Oh yes it really is, if for no other reason than it keeps me off the streets and away from the rest of society

>>Eight million subscribers can't be wrong now, can they?
I direct you to the results of the US election which gave GWB his second term of office
Anyway I think I'll stick to Eternal Lands, that's got no monthly sub, and I don't see why I should pay for software twice.

I've always stayed away from games that need a monthly payment. I pride myself that I can make a game last for so many hours it works out that the game, £40 to buy which sounds a lot, only really costs me 50p an hour to play.
Plus the fact that I'm normally so rubbish I don't want to play against other people.

The Kingdom of Loathing has no subscription fees. And is presented in wonderful monochromatic stick figure glory.

I did play an online game years ago that was great, you had to do mining and stuff to get enough metal to make your own armour. Could do quests as well, but you weren't playing against anyone. Just occasionally trading with them. Can't remember what that one was called. It was very slow and pants, but I played it all the time. That must have been five years ago.

I used to play a Java-based one called Dragon Court which sounds kinda similar?

I don't think so - no, it's not. It looks exactly the same sort of game, but I found a website with pictures of it, and that wasn't it. I'll have to ask my brother if he remembers the name, it was him who got me into it.
