Just for the benefit of the doubt, I'd just like to say that nothing I've said in a certain other thread about beer coasters should be construed as taking sides.
In fact, had you not posted in that thread, I would have carried on in blissful ignorance as to who he was talking about, such is my blissful ignorance of h2g2 gossip. I've had enough experience of how damaging innuendo and rumour about relationships on this place can be, so I wouldn't evcer want people thinking I was playing the same game.

No offence taken
I had to say something though because I object to silly name-calling and on-site slagging off. I also don't want anyone else to be dragged into it - and I'm not a mad cow, honest!

I've met you so I don't know how far the 'not a mad cow' defence will get you... I agree about the rest of it, and I think in fairness the boy regretted it almost as soon as he'd done it...
I look forward to the piece on the Bonzo Dog Band. A much under-rated musical force, I think.
Doing the trouser press, baby...

Ah, the Bonzos rock! My personal fave has to be the Craig Torso Show, cracks me up every time..

Vivian Stanshall was one of the great unrecognized geniuses of Briish comedy. He did a wonderful 'outro' piece for The Damned's 'Lovely Money'. Hilarious.

Did he really? I'll have to dig that one out of Kazaa!
Did you listen to the series Neil Innes did on Radio 4 a few months back? Think it was called Innes Own World, where he talked about the band and did a few sketches and such...

Very funny - my flatmate looked in a couple of times when she heard strange giggling sounds coming out of my room at 11 at night (it was on late), but also really informative. The sketches were mixed in with Innes standing up in front of an audience, kinda like a spoken word gig. Funnily enough, he didn't mention anything about the Raggy Dolls...

Oh, i find that hard to believe...
I used to enjoy the Innes Book of Records on tv when I were a young'un.

I'm afraid I can only remember Sad Sack and company, young whippersnapper that I am. Mind you, I bought one of those cult kids programmes DVDs a couple of months ago and my sisters made me feel very old "What the hell's Button Moon? Look, you can see the strings, this is crap!"
Kids, eh?

Never was a Thunderbird fan, preferred Captain Scarlett myself!
I did notice the strings and stuff when I was younger though, but I think it adds to the charm, just as the crap animation in Jamie and the Magic Torch does (have you noticed the backgrounds were done in coloured pencil!)

(They didn't take your marbles away, btw - you gave 'em away )
I don't remember Jamie and the Magic Torch *at all*, I'm afraid to say. But I do remember when Captain Pugwash was broadcast *live*!

Given them away? Uh-oh....
Captain Pugwash! Yay! I had no idea that you could broadcast a cartoon/animation thing live, how'd that work? How'd it look?

They had six or seven sets that were static, and the camera just moved between them between scenes. Because Pugwash was done by blokes with puppets on sticks, it was pretty easy...
But it looked ropey...

Note to self - get Captain Pugwash DVD when I get paid....
You might not have guessed by now, but I'm a huge fan of old-style children's TV. Reasons? Who needs reasons, they beat the modern ones hands-down!
