h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I realise that there is already an entry covering this but it has been removed so i hope this entry will keep every one sweet on the subject untill the other entry is re-written....***please note, every thing written in this article is written from memory, although i have spent many a sleepless night poring over books and articles my memory is not perfect and i may miss minor details, also because im at work this is the only site i have access to,so i cant reference or link to any of the details i use, any criticisms/ammendments/questions please dont hesitate to drop me a line***

As most people will be aware Nirvana were one of the biggest bands in the early 90's and are often portrayed (wrongly) as the band that solely pioneered the "grunge" movement (i will not go into a biography as i think theres a bio in progress), in 1992 the band realeased nevermind which was wildly popular on both sides of the pond and rocketed the band into super stardom, they then realeased in utero in 1994 and soon after kurt cobain the frontman of the band (completed by dave grohl of foo fighters fame, and krist novoselic who went on to form eyes adrift with chris and kurt kirkwood formerly of the meat puppets)was found dead in whats commonly known as the "greenhouse" above he and his wife (courtney love's) house.



-----------------------HOW?------------------------------------------

The official cause of death was suicide.
Many people suspect murder.

The many conspiracy theorys surrounding the death which, range from the plausable to the insane. here is a list *note: this is nowhere near a full list and i will go into the more plausable theorys later in these writings.

THE MAFIA; According to some theorists, the band was approached by the Mafia and ordered to pay protection money the band refused and were threatened, so the story goes cobains death was a mob hit.

DAVID BOWIE; Yes, even the white duke has a theory surrounding him in relation to the deaths of kurt cobain, bing crosby!! and marc bolan all of whom collaborated with bowie in some way weeks before their deaths mr crosby died weeks after collaborating with bowie in the christmas hit "little drummer boy", bolan also met his end a few weeks after a bowie collaboration and cobain famously covered "the man who sold the world" during the unplugged in new york set.

CIA; Normally in any conversation involving conspiracies the CIA are mentioned, apparently kurt was becoming so famous he was like a demi god to the angst ridden youth of the early 90's and he posed a threat to the government as if he could cause a whole nation of teens to revolt it would be catastrophic, so they had him taken out..apparently

COURTNEY LOVE; The most plausable theory (OTHER THEN SUICIDE) is that courtney love had some thing to do with kurts "suicide" (i personally have no views either was but i will use the ol' quotation marks when speaking of good ol' courtney)this is the main theory i will focus on when dicussing the case

--------------------THE CRIME SCENE------------------------------

When kurts body was found it was sprawled out, on the floor next to a shotgun, a spent cartridge and a towel (dont forget your towel:S) there was also a "suicide note" stabbed through with a red pen that was staked into some compost,beside this on a neatly folded towel was a heroin kit (belt, spoon, powder, syringe) put neatly away (this would become the biggest swinging point for the murder theory).there was a chair put up against a pull door as if to stop it from being opened.

kurt weighed in at aproximately 115 lbs (8 1/2 stone), but his blood morphine level was high enough to kill a 16 stone addict <[{quick lesson for those who dont know already... heroin is derived from the opium poppy and turns to morphine on the blood.remember stay in school kids dont do drugs}]> and he had been shot through the head from the chin up...but his face was intact...strange seeing as the shotgun used was a 12 guage..and that would of pulled his face up with the shot and disfigure him, but his head was in surprisingly good condition as they used an open casket.

now i will go through some of the evidence in more detail

**THE GUN**
Which brings many theorists (such as courtneys dad) to beleive that the shell was tampered with if you remove some of the wadding, pellets and powder the shotgun will kill but not with as much destructive force.this was proven by the father as he shot a bunch of melons with varying amounts of the above components (wadding,powder,shot) and found that the melons could be left relatively intact. also an interesting point regarding the gun is that there wasnt one eligable finger print on the shotgun..not even kurts.


**THE HEROIN KIT**(remember the kit was neatly stashed away after use)
kurt was a long time user of opiates, and was on the rocky road to recovery just before his death (which happened days after he vaulted the 7 foot wall of a rehab center) as with every drug immunity comes with the package meaning that the more dependent a drug user becomes the more of said drug he needs to feel the effect...but even a 16 stone addict of 4 years could not shoot up that much heroine and survive long enough to walk across a room put a kit neatly away, then walk back into the centre of the room sit and hold a shotgun under their head,then pull the trigger. this was highlighted in a canadian doctors article "dead men dont pull triggers" thats a pretty self explanitory title but let me just recap kurt was filled with enuff heroine to kill a 16 stone (224 lbs) addict, he weighed 8 stone (115 lbs) he would have been dead as soon as the heroine entered his body.

****THE NOTE****
The note is also shrouded in mystery.. if youve ever read it it really doesn't read like a suicide note,it reads like a resignation... exept for the last 4 lines written after PEACE LOVE EMPATHY KURDT (one of kurts psuedonyms KURDT KOBAIN) though strangly these last four lines were not written in kurts hand... a fact proven by dozens of highly qualified and experience handwirting analysts.it was common knowledge among friends that kurt was disolousioned with the music buisiness he was jaded by the many storys he had told that made him out to be more enigmatic then he was, and the fact that in 4 years he had been elevated into god like status with the thousands of teens that adored him, and its also well documented that kurt wanted a divorce from courtney. and with his little daughter whom he worshipped and adored, now on the scene why would he want to kill himself was the question screamed by fans every where.

This is so raw but definatelty worth working on - maybe email the mods and find out what it is that's keeping it hidden? I hadn't really looked into this in any detail before so it's been an interesting read, conspiracies rule!

I still don't get how David Bowie could really be linked to it though unless just playing that song was enough to invoke The Curse!
