Hello, I'm Lee.
Just floating about saying a few hellos before the MMM. Stop by personal space if you get a chance.
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 9, 2001
Hi Lee,
Mighty nice of you to drop by and say hello.
As you can see I'm still struggling with what to do while I'm here, but I've found some great peeps to talk to, and love the meets! . - I think that will do for now....
Will go have a peep at your space right now, so I'll see you in a mo, and look forward to meeting you at the MMM. Andy.

threesecondmemory Posted Nov 10, 2001
How long have you been at h2g2 then? How many meets have been to?
[threesecondmemory starting to feel like chris tarrant]

If you start handing fat cheques out I'll forgive you.
I think I joined in August, and that was cos some members I know from else where were talking about me here, so I thought I'd better sign up so I could join in. - I'm glad I did too.
This one will be my second meet, I went on the camping meet @ Alton Towers in September, and from Manchester I'll be travelling up to Glasgow for the rest of the weekend, and the SMEG.
You coming along to that one too? It should be good!
pre MMM hello!
threesecondmemory Posted Nov 10, 2001
Can't make Glasgow. My guitar got damaged at a party the other week so I spent all my cash on replacing it so I'm a bit skint.
Are you based in Manchester?
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 10, 2001
Eeek! Painful! What in the world did you do to your Guitar??? Please don't tell me it was a foot trough the Bodywork Oh well there's always other meets.
I play a bit too, all self taught and shamelessly bad, but I like to see what I can pick up. I'll never make a lead guitarist though - However I can belt out a mean 'Happy and you know it' which comes in very handy for my work with under 4 year olds . What sort of Music do you play, and at what level?
Yep I'm based in Manchester, but avoid going out in town, not really my kind of thing, but I'm really looking forward to the MMM.

Someone knocked it over and the neck snapped, again!
I've replaced it with a 12 string YamaHA electro acoustic which is absolutly beautiful.
I've been playing on and off for about 10 years. I play mainly rhythm guitar. I play and sing anything from John Lennon to david gray. I write a little but not enough.
I was out in town last night. Didn't plan to. I was havin a quiet beer in fallowfield and my mates said right you're comin to town and you don't have the option of saying no! They bought me loads of though which was nice! Got a right headache now though.
What do you do for a livin then?

Anyone here?
Just thought I'd come round and say a pre MMM hi and there was this thread ready made for the purpose. Not that I have a great memory but it lasts more than 3 seconds and I seem to remember somebody
*points
offering to buy me a next time we met.....
Looking forward to next weekend, should be great fun

threesecondmemory Posted Nov 15, 2001
Yeah me too Metal.
Did I see you on the pictures for the spring onion?? If so, how did you get on with the bowling?
pre MMM hello!
Metal Chicken Posted Nov 15, 2001
I won a BBC pen for my bowling efforts
Utterly unbelievable. Everyone else must have been much more than me, it's the only explanation.
pre MMM hello!
threesecondmemory Posted Nov 15, 2001
Nice one.
I usually bowl better after a few jars. Its a curve though. Sober I'm rubbish, I get better until I hit 5 pints and then it deteriorates rapidly!
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 16, 2001
Hi again MC! You bet, offer of an still stands, can even arrange for the Lass to concoct a very special 'Mystery Pint' for you!
Lee, to answer your question (sorry - I'm neglecting posts yet again) I work with children under 5, in a nursery in the City Centre. I'll usually tell you that I enjoy it thoroughly. - Having basic guitar playing skills can liven up the day (just ask the poor souls who work with me ), and the kids love to help me make a racket!
You should come and join in, 3 guitars 20 kids, a very large hat, and a repetoir including Bob the Builder, John Lennon and Classical - if we work market street we should be able to pull in enough beer money to last us though the MMM.....
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 17, 2001
How very sensible of you!
Pretty much the only reason I do it is for the at the end of the day, well not quite, but it's something I look forward to .
pre MMM hello!
threesecondmemory Posted Nov 17, 2001
I went camping on the bank holiday weekend and we were woken up every morning but screaming brats which whar you'd been on the was very unpleasent!
I was thinkin today, should have gone busking for children in need. Would have been a laugh and for a good cause.
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 17, 2001
You may be interested in signing up for Alton Towers next year. Camping, plenty of beer to guzzle, not a brat to wake us up (there wasn't this year anyway), then silliness at the park. Far to good for Kids that place ;) http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F75014?thread=145138 Kids @ work had a disco, much screaming, silliness and or course
pre MMM hello!
threesecondmemory Posted Nov 17, 2001
I will keep that in mind. I could take my guitar to that.
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 17, 2001
That would be grate!
This time we missed a guitar and a h2g2 flag, should be able to sort them both out for next time .
pre MMM hello!
Event Horizon Posted Nov 17, 2001
Yep, in a car it was about 15 mins away. Very handy pub at the bottom of the camp site too, with an excellent policy on Friday night last orders I think we rolled out of there at 3.30am.
Key: Complain about this post
