Yup, I even drove through San Jose. I even saw a girl that looked like her (Peter the Girl's) picture, but not in California, in Idaho. Oh well.

On August 12, around 6:30 PM, conveniently close to when I get off work, Leeta comes home from Colorado! smiley - hugsmiley - smooch Unless her plane is delayed 12 hours like it was last time....not so fun when that happens.

She's been away since the middle of June...the day after we became a pair. Hmmm. In about fifty-one hours I should be getting a call from her...can you tell I'm excited?

Heh...there's nothing wrong with couting the hours until a phone call. (It's down to 46 hours now, by the way.) smiley - laugh

Yup, she'll be staying a while, until next summer I believe. Except for the odd vacation here and there.

Sure! I knew you had posted it earlier in the thread, but it seemed appropriate to write it again.

Thought I'd resurrect this old dead thread....smiley - skull

How're everybody's searches for reality and underlying truth going along? Fine? Not so much for me....this week we started discussing it in my science fiction class (after reading Phillip K. Dick's "The Electric Ant") and I realized it's sort of pointless to do so--seeing as we'll most likely never know the answer, and any theory proposed gains no real hold over any other.

So that sort of turned me off philosophy for a little while...smiley - blue Oh well. Hope everyone else is faring better.

YEAH! We've been given life again smiley - biggrin
OoO you have a sci-fi class? *green with jealousy* Yes I do agree with you. I haven't exactly had searching time. The closest thing I've gotten to those searches are reading some books about Democracy being against religion and God, as in man in the Last Battle trying to control the Kingdom of God stuff. Also we've had some controversial discussions in art class (like about death sentences, Hitler, imagination vs. knowledge [yes- Einstein})But no real philosophy. It's better than literary analyzation though! smiley - laugh
You mustn't be turned off so quickly. I'll discuss philosophy with ya if you want (other than in FFFF which I will try to get back in), though I'm a bit rusty smiley - winkeye
The fun of philosophy is that you can't be wrong.

Yes, the science fiction class is *supposed* to be a SF/F class, split at the quarter break (it's a semester class), but since the teacher bought new textbooks that contain only science fiction....we've read some pretty weird stories. The Electric smiley - ant being one of them...

Have you read Sophie's World? I think I need to re-read it before I start thinking about philosophy again...although I realized when I looked back at it that it only contains Western philosophy--there's no mention at all of any Eastern phligs. smiley - biggrin

One can't lose at philosophy, but neither can one win! I don't mean winning in the sense of beating other people, but in actually gaining significant amounts of headway into understanding the universe. One can come up with a theory that's totally bizarre (Plato's "pure forms" or original forms or whatever he called them) and there's no way to argue it because it *makes sense*. But there are a million other theories that make just as much sense....smiley - headhurts

Well it sounds wonderful! What exactly was the Electric smiley - ant about then?
I started reading it, but ran out of time. IT started to get a bit...juvenile. The book would be better with more upscale writing, but then again I think it would make sense if it got like that in the end as Sophie got more educated in Philosophy. I really have no time though! I'll just ask my school mates bout Eastern phligs..they practice them.
That's what makes it fun. You can create your own belief system and make it so by arguing all the different logical points and curing faluts. Then, you can alter it continuosly to fit your needs. They're aren't defined laws.
