It was a secondary school?! You wouldn't think it. They dressed like a primary school. Well I am used to blazer, tie and shirt but eve College high dress like that. It does'nt set a very good example for the school at all.

It's one of those schools that had a poor reputation - it's in a fairly deprived area and as far as I can see, it's one that's improving - all credit to them for being a guinea pig.

Incidentally, I heard something interesting in today's Frost programme - one of the interviewees used the term 'turkey twizzler' to describe a policy that had very little meat! smiley - laugh What a compliment to Jamie Oliver!

Hi, smiley - fishsmiley - musicalnote

So "turkey twizzler" has now entered into our languagesmiley - huh Well it is a perfect discription of most of what is going on at the moment, isn't it smiley - steam

Did you note that Jamie's programme is being shown in Australia soon. He sure is getting around. I read the other day that he doesn't mind his family being part of his prgrammes etc. after all they are part of his life, but he and Jules hate the lies printed about them. Don't we all, and it's not just about them.

I get so sick of all the rubbish talked about people in the public eye. Just because they are there doesn't mean they should have to put up with all this smiley - bleep

By the way, how's the ankle and the tummy nowsmiley - huh Hope you are feeling better.

smiley - cheers

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

Hi Websailorsmiley - dragonsmiley - hug

Yes - it seems to be our equivalent of 'where's the beef?' - remember that? And yes, it was an apt description. According to Frost (actually it was according to one of his guests who runs a polling organisation), Gordon Brown features (quite highly) in the American Time Magazine on the top 100 influential people (Blair doesn't make the cut) and more people would trust Charles Kennedy with their money than either Tony Blair or Michael Howard.

I saw how Jules felt about the lies being touted about about their relationship - the media appears to relish crises and disasters and seems to promote them - it could certainly drive a wedge into a relationship if there was even the slightest crack. Of course, good news (unless it's winning the World Cup) isn't often deemed newsworthy and an overwhelming proportion of the news these days is negative.

Thank you - I went to the hospital on Friday as my ankle was still painful - told it was a strained ligament and was given exercises to do to strengthen them, which I'm doing religiously. My tum has settled down, thankfully, although it didn't seem to like my breakfast this morning.

Incidentally, I've been reading a book by the original dinner lady who started the revolution - can't remember her name, but her school was St Peters in Nottinghamshire (or Northants). Fascinating stuff.

Talking about being off, I have had a stinking cold today and am off school. I went to France at the weekend, with school to Disneyland. I probabaly got it there. I have been in bed most of the day and have been in my dressing gown and PJs all day. Sorry state. I am sure I will be better though.

The media. Where do I start. I want to work in media, but in films and fiction, not news and 'public interest'. The reporters are like vipers. They see or hear something and spring. They get 2 and 2 and make 5,000,000. Often in pounds sterling. They also manage to create something out of nothing. Why can't they stick to the truth?

Gaz,

I don't think they would recognise the truth if it smacked them in the facesmiley - doh

Did you see the Trevor MacDonald programme tonight where they are trying three teenage lads on "proper" food? I look forward to Friday's episode to see what improvement there is. Apparently it was quite noticeable.

It seems people are, at last, waking up to the damage junk food is doing to children, teenagers and young adults.

Sorry you are feeling rough. Hope you are better soon smiley - cuddle

I didn't see the Trevor McDonald show. What side was it on, Websailorsmiley - dragon? I was watching the programme about Genghis Khan.

Sorry to hear you're under par, Gaz - get well soon!
