Zarquon's Singing Fish!

Well, he's back from the environment centre - and he didn't have the much feared 'accident', although another little boy in his room did. Was little smiley - fish sympathetic? Well, he told me with great glee, so I assume not! Two of them did - both boys.

He had a great time and came back looking healthy. He was cold at night, he said, though. What was his favourite part of the week? The outdoor exercises. They did shelter building (which he's done before - he said they didn't start from scratch - they had a framework to start from), high and low ropes - he got across even though he didn't think he could do it, tyres, etc. These exercises were called 'The Hub'. Was he homesick? Yes, particularly the first day and the first morning. He missed being tucked in, his kiss and cuddle and his story. Still, he said, he was learning to be more independent. I think he's done really well. smiley - magic

Oh, smiley - fishsmiley - musicalnote.

A big well done smiley - starsmiley - starsmiley - star to little smiley - fish for no "accident", especially as it was his first time away from home. Finding out that other little boys also have the same problem occasionally would be good for him too. You will guess I encountered it with one of mine too!

I am glad he enjoyed it. I had a quick look at the website and it looked most interesting. He really is a big boy now, isn't he? It also makes them appreciate "home conforts" (and Mum) a bit more which is no bad thing.

Gazongola-Small Time Whovian and Big Time Nutter (and now old enough to drink, but politics is still a less favourable subject)

So little smiley - fish went on an adventure camp. Cool. I have been on a number and had great fun. I still haven't outgrown them! I am sure he had a great time and he was very brave. It is kind of daunting the first time away from Mum as it were, but when you start, you forget your troubles and get stuck in!smiley - biggrin

You're so right, Websailorsmiley - dragon. He only has the odd accident - *really* not that often and someone else said that he might feel comforted by the fact that other children had this problem.

Yes, Gazongola - he was brave - he's been away from me a couple of nights before, but always with friends (not that his class aren't his friends), but it's a bit different in this kind of situation. No bedtime ritual. His face looked a bit chapped when he got back - maybe it was the fresh air, or the cold nights.

He had a lovely time, except for being cold at night. smiley - brr Of course, the Margaret McMillan Centre is in your neck of the woods, isn't it, AR1smiley - schooloffish? Parents weren't allowed to contact their kids - no mobile phones allowed (he doesn't own one! I think he's too young). He hasn't spent quite all his birthday money, AR1 - so far he's spent it on a series of little things (including some replacement Maltesers for Roy [a small packet], after he pinched rather more than his fair share of a big box).
