Gnomon - time to move on

Hi ZSF!

We waited for you quite a while outside the Crypt gift shop, because we thought that you were coming out in a minute. But then you never appeared and when we checked where you'd got to, you'd disappeared! So we never got to say goodbye to you properly as we'd intended.

It was good to see you and little smiley - fish again and I'm glad that you could share the meal, since you weren't able to get to the pub.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

Hi Gnomon! Little smiley - fish was a little longer choosing something than I'd expected (he insisted on buying me a pendant with interleaving and a central paste stone - then buying one for himself). When we got outside, I had a good look, but couldn't see you - I too would have liked to have said goodbye properly. It was great to see you again and to renew my acquaintanceship with you and Azara (not forgetting Trillian's Child and Lightman, of course).

I don't know if I told you, but having lost the weight makes you look younger!

Did you enjoy the remainder of the day? How did you do in the quiz?

Gnomon - time to move on

We did really well in the extremely difficult quiz, succeeding in recognising about 6 of the 21 music intros. Then we discovered that the best two teams had got 20 right. So no points there.

The meetup in the pub was good. The Bell Book and Candle is a wonderful venue, done up in Hammer Horror style with spooky laughing the toilets (which are hidden in a secret passage behind a bookcase) and Dr Frankenstein-style machinery for reviving corpses. And the bar staff were very friendly! It was good to meet everybody again.

We went to the British Museum on Sunday and had a relaxing stroll around, only glancing at about a tenth of what is on display, followed by a leisurely lunch in the Restaurant. The Central Court in the museum is absolutely amazing. It's a Norman Foster.

Had I been in your team, I don't think I would have helped matters. My knowledge of pop music is abysmal and I watch very little TV so there would have been no help there.

The Bell Book and Candle sounds fun! smiley - ghost

I've been round part of the British Museum with little smiley - fish and after a while I think he found it a bit overwhelming. It might be time to go back and try again. He's really into Egyptology, so hopefully he should really enjoy it.

smiley - blush I'd never heard of Norman Foster. I've done a search; http://www.architectureweek.com/2001/0214/design_1-1.htmlsmiley - biggrin )h, he did the Gherkin! and the Millenium Bridge - in which case, he also did that beautiful bridge in France, the Millau Viaduct and this http://www.greatbuildings.com/models/Hongkong_and_Shangha_mod.htmlsmiley - wow

You can call me TC

Norman Foster did the roof of the Reichstag in Berlin. I was talking with someone about that on Saturday ... can't remember who now.

Wasn't me! Oh, here's a link to it: http://www.floornature.com/worldaround/articolo.php/art394/3/en. He is really clever - I'm most impressed. Have you seen it?

It was great to see you at the National Gallery, TC! Pity I hadn't got a handle on the flash of my camera. I worked out afterwards that if I had set it to permanent flash I would have had much better pictures. I had two really nice ones of you and little smiley - fish, unfortunately, you moved on each one and little smiley - fish's hand moved on one. The two I took of you on your own (from the side) make you look a bit severe, which you're not. I hate having my photo taken, and I have the feeling you do too, yes?
