If there's a way to come, I'll try to find it. I really want to come too and see you. 
I have been invited to meet my chap's friends at a party the same day - first opportunity there's been - and it's to say goodbye to someone who's being deported (to South Africa, I think) as his visa has run out.
There may be a way of coming to both.
