Hi Z'sSF - and thank you for your encouragement way back in Nov/Dec, my first months in h2g2. My 'laidback' screed made it to front page today.
Fancy a bent? They're really good on hills too! My thirty-something son has a child seat on his, his 4-year-old is just getting too big for it.
I notice you're subscribed to the Just Intonation conversation; I've just added my tuppence worth there.
Fascinated, wondering what peace dancing could be. My daughter did belly dancing for a while . . .

Congratulations on your entry making the front page. I was happy to give encouragement - and it was in a subject I was interested in!
A laidback? Yes, I think they're really cool. however they're also expensive and I'm not sure I could afford one! Also, I'm a bit of a coward, as you might have seen about my story with the trailer bike and my seven year old. I really need someone to cycle with.
Peace dancing - it's a type of circle dancing where you sing a 'sacred phrase', or verse, sometimes in English, sometimes in Sanskrit, or Aramaic, or Hindi, or Russian, or another language. The dances are often gentle, sometimes very lively and many of them have progression, so you dance with a number of partners in the same dance. When you dance with another person, you are not dancing with that person, you are dancing with the divine. It can be a way of getting closer to God or the Goddess. And it's fun. We do it on dance camps - we go a couple of times a year.

Hi again Recumbentman!
Peace dancing and belly dancing? One is a fairly solo effort - fun though - I've done a little - very good for you, I'm told. The other is a very social thing to do. Both great!
And yes, I'm subscribed to the intoning thread. I'll have another look later..
