Hi ZSF! I'm Subbing your entry (another great one!) and just wanted to clarify a couple of points.
In the final paragraph you say:
'There are also sweeps, who are mostly young children dressed up in costume with blackened faces, and collecting for charity.'
Do you mean the sweeps are collecting for charity, or that there are also collections for charity being taken?
What exactly is 'the Vines'? Does it need to be capitalised?
Other than these couple of queries, I think your entry is ready to be returned to the Editors. If you would like to cast an eye over it first, it's at A707861

Hi Sus!
How nice that you are subbing for me!
The Vines will be Vines Lane. I've just had a peek at the Festival Programme through the link on the entry and this year the dates are
1 May for the awakening ceremony and 4-6 May for the main programme.
The bit about the final procession goes 'The procession will commence at the Castle Gardens and process through The Esplanade, Rochester High Street, Crow Lane, Vines Lane, St. Margaret's Street, Boley Hill, Epaul and back into the Castle Gardens.'.
The children dressed as sweeps (there's a nice picture of one via the links) carry collecting tins. They're too cute to resist. I've not asked them exactly who the're collecting for.
This year, they have Martin Carthy at their folk club. He's my hero.

ing mods! Would you believe your entry has now been moderated? Broken link - City of Rochester. Funny that, cos it still works fine for me.

Right... restored it to its rightful condition and sent it back to Editors, before mods hack it again.
