A Hectic Week

We have had a hectic week. Some friends of ours went to Chicago to attend a family members memorial service. Their daughter stayed with us. She (the daughter 16) has her brand new drivers license and a new job. Well anyway, while her parents were in Chicago, she leaves work early (without permission) and drives two counties over to visit her boy friend. Her mother has forbidden them from seeing each other. So about 9:30 PM we get a call, The girl had wrecked her car. It took a little while to find out she was OK. but it was a miracle she didn't kill herself. Her car is totaled and her mom is as mad as a wet hen. The girl has a little more growing up to do.
My daughter still doesn't have her drivers license. When we went back the last time they tested her eyes and she failed the eye test. Today she goes to the eye doctor to see what the problem is. I am a little worried that the problem might be serious.
This is later the same day. We've already been to the eye doctor and guess what. My daughter now wears glasses. She has astigmatism. She looks real cute in her glasses.

We missed Church last Sunday and I joked we might suffer for it and we did. My back has been hurting all week.
Penny has been moody all week
and they wouldn't let Michelle take her drivers test because the laws changed and they need to see her Diploma. and you know that broke her heart.
The corns real high and it has a lot of ears, but they're real starchy and not tender at all. I guess it's a good thing we've got chickens. Speaking of the chickens, every time a watermelon gets close to being ripe the chickens peck it open. I went out the other day and got one just a little green, trying, to beat the chickens. Oh BTW chicken for dinner tonight.

25 June 1950 Korean war began, Kenneth Thornton was 17 years, 7 months, 17 days
old.
27 July 1953, Korean war armistice was signed, Kenneth Thornton was 20 years, 8
months, 19 days old.
25 July 1955 Kenneth Thornton was 22 years, 8 months, 17 days old.
22 April 1926 Dorothy Mcdaniel was born .
8 November 1954 Dorothy Mcdaniel married Kenneth Thornton, she was 28 years 6
months and 16 days old, he was exactly 22, a difference of 6 and a half years.
DT was 29 years 3 months and 3 days old when I was born 7.25.55
KT was 40 years 11 months and 2 days, on Oct 10 1973, the day I joined the Navy
DT was 47 years 5 months and 18 days, on Oct 10 1973, the day I joined the Navy
KT was 46 years 9 mo. 11 days, in Sept 10 1979, the year they came to Tennessee.
DT was 53 years 4 mo. 9 days, in Sept 10 1979, the year they came to Tennessee.
KT was 49 years 11 mo. 2 ds, in Oct 10 1982, the year his first grandson was born.
DT was 56 years 5 mo. 18 ds, in Oct 10 1982, the year her fifth grandson was born.
Michael Thornton was born 25 July 1955
M.T. was 45 years 11 months and 11 days old when his son joined the Navy.
I didn't do any thing today.
