Otto,

I'm trying to get the old fantasy football predictions league going again and to drum up interest I'm leaving messages for the people who are still around the site who used to enter it. Would you be interested in doing it again?

The page for it is at A87708577

Yep yep. I've signed up there too. It's funny looking back at some of those old leagues.... seems like ages ago... probably because it was...

I recently turned 30, and celebrating by having a week hanging around the North East remembering my university days from 10 years earlier. And that was the time that I was a real regular on h2g2 and the time during which I ran the fantasy football. 2001-2004 I was a student, and h2g2 was my favourite displacement exercise when I had essays to write, Every time I made the most posts lists or busiest conversation it was because I was sitting in the Murray Library at Sunderland University, surrounded by books, desperately trying to put off my second draft of an essay about something or other.

I was struck by quite how long ago these things that define me were: my time at university was respsonsible for shaping a lot of my current interests and hobbies, and h2g2 defines my online presence- it was the first place online that I used the pseudonym Egon, it was my first real immersion into any kind of online community, and a number of the people I follow on twitter or communicate with on Facebook can be tracked back here.

And it all stems from those three years, from 10 years ago to 7 years ago.
