I saw you had an entry about Russian in Peer Review (I can't comment on that one!), and I thought that I'd say hello from another Irish researcher. Most of the entries I've done have been related to opera, but I have one about the ash tree in peer review at the moment - I see that you were doing one about the Horse chestnut which looks interesting. It sounds as if you have loads of ideas for entries, which I think is the most worthwhile thing about h2g2.

Anyway, if you ever want comments on any of your Gaelic Revival ideas, I'd be interested! I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of you in Peer Review.

Nora - back from the Dublin meet!

We're in the same county! I live in Bray - handy for the Dart, but cheaper and quieter than town. And we have the Dargle, which I have to research and write up sometime, if it's still un-entered. I know very little about opera, so I need to read some of your entries for my education smiley - smiley! I'll go look at your Ash. See you around!

Hi Nora,

I thought I would also drop you a quick note to say hi. I am also very interested in your entry on the horse chestnut. A few weeks ago here was I wondering why there were no entries on trees, and now we have some great articles emerging - and all from Irish researchers!

Best of luck in your projects (and the Leaving Cert!)

So you live in Bray?
I'm not far away at all! smiley - winkeye
If you like Diane Duane's books I'm sure you've got 'A Wizard Abroad' - I loved all the County Wicklow geography, complete with smashing up the Main Street in Bray. Another interesting County Wicklow fantasy is 'The Godmother's Apprentice' by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough who is a friend of Ann MacCaffrey's and has obviously stayed with her. Another Wicklow fantasy writer is Katharine Kurtz - she used to live in a old house/castle near Hollybrook but I think she may have moved. She has a new book called 'Saint Patrick's Gargoyle' which is set in Dublin. As you can see I'm very interested in fantasy and SF myself!

There isn't even an entry on County Wicklow, let alone the Dargle, so there's plenty of room for you to spread yourself.
