I'm intriuged. Is it some kind of alchemy gone wild, where you have the tea towel strapped to a table in a storm and wait for lightning to strike it, or is it an origami variant concerned with kitchen umm...utensils?

I'm disappointed to say it's the origami variant you mention, though the alchemy-type enchantment sounds infinitely more interesting - and something which you seem to be itching to try! 
If you're gonna try alchemy, check your incantations and intonations, as well as your insurance!

I think I could really get into the whole "lead into gold" scene, but unfortunately my college's limited selection of A levels means I ahd to do the more traditional subject of Chemistry. Not that I haven't tried sneaking into the lab when no one's looking...Sadly, there's only so much fun you can have with sulphuric acid (and really dilute sulphuric acid at that).
And don't knock origami. It's managed to confuse me for years.
