I thought I'd better drop by and expand on my comment on the 'Children to be taught atheism in schools' thread. I didn't actually think you were that likely to cause trouble; I just thought I ought to warn you that things were becoming potentially vitriolic again. Justin the Preacher has returned to the thread, and Member (as was) has returned to taunt him (Post 404, I think). Since Justin doesn't even try to argue (although he does seem to be getting somewhat better of late, at least from what little I've seen), and Member tends to lace his points with acid, things looked quite recently to be on the verge of getting nasty. Since you've been around for longer than I have you presumably know the risks of commenting on Justin's posts, and certainly I've no reason to assume that you're not capable of carrying on a civilised debate. If you really think you would cause trouble, then I respect your judgment; but please don't feel you oughtn't to make whatever contributions you might have to make merely because I felt the need to give you a word of caution.

Don't worry about it. Like I said, I don't like what Justin represents and I tend to be pretty argumentative when faced with fundamentalists or any other absolutist and totalitarian thinkers. I've said pretty much (I think) what I need to on the subject anyway and it's good if I avoid threads that are bad for my blood-pressure (I'm remembering the old "War with Iraq" thread from a year or so ago <shudders> so I'm leaving it be for those reasons as much as any. I certainly didn't suddenly get the feeling I wasn't welcome of anything like that.

Okay; just as long as there's no misunderstanding. Maybe I worry too much, but Justin and Member both make me nervous, and the combination thereof gives me nerves squared.
