Boat- people.

What a situation near Christmas Isle. A Norwegian ship has done the right thing and rescued boat people from a sinking vessel, and all the Indonesian & Australian Gov'ts can say is hey we don't want you!
Australia even rushed legislation through parliament overnight, to give it the power to order the ship from it's territorial waters.
It's the same old story global multinationals ripping off and exploiting the poor and downtrodden, or so called democratic governments using them as political footballs. A lot of these refugees are from Iraq and Afghanistan, and if it wasn't for western governments blocking food and medical supplies to these countries
the problem wouldn't be as bad.
Oh! for a giant dose of humanitarianism.

I came back!

22nd Aug.2001.
I was suffering withdrawel symptoms there for a while. I've just spent a week in hospital with virus, finally vanquished thank goodness
Nasty places hospitals, full of germs!
One good thing though, I was able to watch all of the 4th test match, without worrying about getting up the next morning. D'oh the one we lost! That'd be right!!!!!!!

Sleepless in Tasmania!

Sun.29th.July 2001.
Well what a night, very little sleep, tossing and turning, pacing the bedroom floor,worrying! And the reason for all this. Well yesterday evening, my 4th day on h2g2 I was cruising the site, reading items of interest and testing pages, trying to get the hang of Guideml. However on returning to "my space" Yikes!!!!! shock, horror. All my writty wot' I wrote was gone!
A sinister message had been left, saying that my page had been taken off and sent for moderation. Suffice to say i was shaken (not stirred). So hence the sleepless night, wondering what I wrote that may be against the rules, and pondering my fate.What if I was guilty?
St Helena, Robbin Isl., a gulag or transportation to a farflung outpost of the empire (oh,I'm already there).
Sunday morning early, boot-up computer, click on browser, click on h2g2, tentatively click on my space Yeh-Hey!!! it's back in all it's glory, the writty wot' I wrote. I check carefully, it's all there no censorship. Also no explanation why it was taken off.
I suddenly stop, and think to myself did it really happen? Or did I fall asleep at the computer and dream it all? Now I'm really shaken and stirred!
