Sorry I got a bit grumpy in the ask h2g2 thread - not your fault, just me having a bit of a bad day / week / month! smiley - winkeye

Well I grumped right back at you so we are all square smiley - biggrin

Was getting a bit frustrated that nobody was addressing anything I raised! Still am a bit, because I don't think it is enough to say 'well that won't happen' - but not sure if I can be bothered to go back and say so now. I may do, we'll see how the mood takes me smiley - winkeye

Could it be that people aren't addressing the points, because they don't have an answer. smiley - smiley

I will come over and play ball this afternoon. You are right, they deserve to be addressed.

How are you doing?

So you replied and said 'well that won't happen' smiley - sadface

I have read all the threads on this topic and have been left feeling that my opinion doesn't count for much. Aparently only people that suscribe to askh2g2 make important contributions, and there was some golden age that I missed. People who enjoy the mix of topics are halfwits. I feel rather patronised and excluded now.

So many of these "h2g2 is rubbish now compared to when I first came here, and all these new idiots are lowering the tone" threads have made me feel like I am not good enough to contribute any more - I haven't been here long enough and I don't understand anything.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll feel less miserable about this tomorrow.

Your opinions are as valuable as any one else's on that thread. On a personal level, for me they are doubly so because I admire you so much, we all do. I am sorry you feel that I am not taking your views on board or giving them the time and attention they deserve. This is my fault. I haven't been able to give that thread the time and attention it deserves as Mina is away at the moment. However, I have not actually done anything about it yet because I was and am aware that not everyone is happy with the proposal.

You are one of the great contributors to h2g2, the sort of person who makes it a pleasure to work here. The amount of time that people have spent on site cuts little ice as far as we are concerned. I am constantly amazed at the support you offer others, the insights that are contained in your postings and how much you contribute despite being so busy at work. Woman you are an inspiration and if I have to follow you round and tell you that everyday I will... unless you get a restraining order or something.

I hope you are happier today.smiley - hug

Dear Kelli,I hoped that thread had died for lack of attention. You will have noticed to contribution to it from me (and I've been here a long time)People who don't like the mix can post "serious" questions (to which, if they're anything like my serious questions, there will be fewer than 10 replies. Resist segregation, I say and keep up the good work of posting whenever and wherever you think fit.You make much more sense than some of the starched pants. smiley - starsmiley - star

Awww shucks. You guys... smiley - blush

Thanks.

The reason I like h2g2 so much is that it (usually) feels like a friendly place where one can talk about almost anything, ask any question, post any problem, and be fairly sure of a considered response (and a smiley - silly one, a smiley - weird one, a smiley - grr one, and one made entirely of smiley - smiley).

I miss the people here if I stay away too long...

smiley - puffk
