Spirituality of Anthony de Mello

Anthony de Mello was a Jesuit from India who brought together the religious wisdom and traditions of East and West. He used stories and parables a great deal in an attempt to move beyond mere images and concepts of "God" in order to help people experience God.

One example of a story springs to mind (this isn't word-for-word):

A group of tourists are all travelling on a bus as it winds it way through wonderful scenery and splendid views on a spectacular journey.
However the blinds are all closed and nobody is looking out of the windows because they are all too busy fighting over who is the most important, most popular, most successful person on the bus. They are all vying for the best seats. And so they continue until the journey's end.

Sometimes we are so busy looking to be popular or successful that we miss out on what life really has to offer.

Of course de Mello is the master storyteller and he says it much better than me.

I would like to put together a page with some of his ideas, maybe a few stories and quotes. Just an idea
