Flying
Posted Jun 12, 2002
Only a week ago I finished a course of paragliding. WOW! It was fantastic!!!
We started the first two days at a flat hill with the first exercises for start and landing. The next day we wanted to go on the mountain to fly the first time from real height but it rained and rained and rained, for two full days. A real pity, but so we had enough time for all the theory (laws, weather, aerodynamic,…) And then finally we went to the top of the mountain. 1000 meters above the valley. We prepared our paragliders, got the last instructions from our teacher, checked the radio and then – started.
The feeling of leaving the ground, floating through the air, the view down to ground, everything so small, and nothing but the air around you – it's indescribable!
You forget everything else, that ever concerned you. In the moment you fly, it's the only thing that matters.

Hi there,
Posted Jul 16, 2001
So here I sit, a bit nervous as I just registered to h2g2 and don't know what to write on my very first entry. Maybe something like: Hi everybody. My name is Magra. I'm new here and hope to meet a lot of nice people. But, no, that's to boring. There a look at my watch tells me I already wasted 15 minutes on thinking about a good entry - but aren't there better ways to spend my time, like searching through the guide? So here I am. That's all. And now I go and look what other people made of their journals
