Wildman - I'm not really mad, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!

Hello!

I'm a brand-new Sub-editor on H2G2 and one of my first entries to sub is your article 'The 1859 Raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia, USA' A1124740

I would like to thank you for making it possible for me to start off so easily - the only thing I can find that I would change at all is a slight alteration in the layout of the quote to open the article - (the 'P' tags are not required within the 'Blockquote' tags).

Just as a query, you state that 'The first casualty of the raid on Harpers Ferry was Hayward Shepherd'. Could you clarify if Shepherd was killed or just wounded please - it's a very minor point in the context of the article but if I wondered about it, perhaps others might appreciate clarification too.

Once again, thank you for making my first subbing job such an easy and informative task.

Hi, Wildman, and thanks for the praise. It's my goal to have my entries get through the editing process in as close to their original form as possible.

Hayward Shepherd was killed. The entry doesn't say that directly, and probably should do.

Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the prompt reply!

I'll make that small alteration and then if everything's OK with you, I'll push it up the linesmiley - smiley
