I don't think mods should step in, with or without hats, it doesn't work and usually just makes things worse.

Community Eds that is part of their job to 'conversation cool' but I've not seen that work well either so I think they should take a leaf out of Paul's book and just try to get the thread on track and sort things out elsewhere

I like Mr603 and he often makes me laugh so mostly I think well of him.
