You were right about Peru. It was an amazing place, although I have to say Lima left me rather cold - it's certainly one of the strangest and saddest looking cities I have ever been to.
But I didn't get robbed! 
Cuzco and Machu Picchu were stunning...I could have wept with joy for the beauty of the Andes and the setting of Machu Picchu. Totally unforgettable, and I can't wait to back and explore further, starting at Iquitos.
I meant to ask how is it that you know Peru so well? Do you live on or near that continent?
Hope you check in some time, as it appears that you haven't been around on H2g2 for a few weeks now.
