Test Match Special Guide Entry

Post 1

Bogwoppit

I am volunteering to compile a Guide entry for Test Match Special (TMS). If you have any ideas for links, inclusions or anything at all, please let me know. I will then start the first draft. Please put all comments as response to this entry, rather than clog up other threads. Thanks smiley - biggrin

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Nothing to add right now - just bookmarking for future reference smiley - smiley
Well, actually.... cakes, nicknames, practical jokes, Fred Trueman's pipe, John Arlott, constant ribbing of Blowers, The Bearded Wonder, View From The Boundary guests (George Shearing, Johnners singing 'Underneath The Arches' with Roy Hudd).... smiley - biggrin

The first page first draft is posted now A596018. smiley - erm I have also created a link site for "Champagne Moments", i.e. the bits us listeners like best smiley - biggrin. I have put a link in to the BBC TMS Website for those people who want to read up on the full biographies and history etc. Over time I will build a brief resume for the key commentators and experts. I like the idea about favourite Views from Boundary. I'll either do that as a separate page or add it to Champagne Moments.

I will come back with ideas when I return to permanent internet-connectedness
If you want some ideas on how to put it together, or other researchers ideas on what to put in it I can suggest three options:
the writing workshop (specially if you intend this for the edited guide)
ask h2g2 - favourite moments etc
and ad in the POST - just ask Shazz

looks wicked so far

Thanks for the advice.
I've now posted on Ask the H2G2 community, and will contact Shazz now. I think it will be a while until this is approaching edited Guide standard, but I am learning GuideML and will keep referring back to the "how to write an entry" site so it does not need re-writing after compiling!
Thanks
