Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents.

Hi there and welcome to h2g2! My name is Amy and I'm an ACE, or assistant community editor, one of several official meeters and greeters here at the Guide. We ACEs also help newcomers, "newbies," get their h2g2 legs as fast as possible-- because, let's face it, I've been here two years and it's still overwhelming at times. smiley - smiley So here's a link that'll take you to a page full of other links that point to some of the more important areas of the Guide.

If you need anything, don't hesistate to let me know by either responding to this message or by leaving a note at my user space at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U50994 . See you about and enjoy!

You can put just about anything on your homepage you want to. Most researchers put a bit on about who they are IRL, stuff like that, and some of the organizations they're involved with here. (My page can be used as an example) It's just one of the few places where it's okay to talk just about yourself without sounding egotistical, and every now and then someone might stop by because they've got similar interests. Think of it as a profile but longer and more... personal. Hope that helps...

How's everything else going?

Good good good... lurking around for a bit is usually good in the beginning, until you get your bearings. smiley - smiley I did so for about six months before I joined in anything, but then I'm incredibly shy, even online. smiley - blush

See you around...
