Galahad, may I be the first person to meet and greet you to this The Guide. As an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) it is my and my fellow ACEs job to welcome new bods, such as yourself, into the fold, and (hopefully) point you in the right direction.

Right, yes, well, in case you haven't been there already, the first place I'd advise you to visit is here http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/welcome This gives you the low down of what this is all about and the ways of using it. It must be said that the easiest and quickest way to get to know your way around is by blundering into the odd table leg, and stubbing your toe. You soon find out what you can and can't do.

We're all a pretty friendly lot really, and even the 
s aren't really that dangerous, unless they're either hungry, provoked or just feeling bored.
There's pretty much something for everyone, but as I said, if you do get lost, fire a flare, or send a smoke signal and someone will rock up and help you. The main thing is to enjoy, and we'll see you around.
