Gnomon - time to move on

Tempest, I notice in Peer Review that you have been telling people you have recommended their entry. You really shouldn't do this until the editors get back to you to say it has been accepted. Occasionally the editors decide to veto a recommendation. Think of the disappointment to the researcher in this case. On the other hand, if you don't tell them until after the word comes back from the powers that be, no-one will have to suffer if it is turned down.

Also - we're not supposed to recommend article that have been in Peer review less than a week. Can I gently suggest you read the Scouts Code of conduct. smiley - smiley

Apologies - the section on the Scout's page called 'What do Scouts Do' is what I meant.
There are two reasons for this:
1: It gives peers time to see the article and comment giving time for necessary changes to be made that might not be spotted if it is picked too quickly.
2: There are many entries in Peer Review that are perfectly acceptable but have been there for weeks if not months and it's frustrating for those authors to see article get recommended after only one day in Peer Review - I've been there, I know smiley - sadface

Please don't take this to heart too much - just a friendly piece of advice smiley - smiley
