Hi again DoctorMO! How strange to bump into you here. I'm now an ACE, so welcoming people is now my responsibility as well as my pleasure! How are you getting on? Small world, isn't it ?
What do you mean?
DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Jun 8, 2001
quite small esp' when we all live in a H2G2 world, I wounder if this would happen in real life?
What do you mean?
Journeyman Posted Jun 9, 2001
Meaning, DoctorMO doesn't believe THIS is real life?
What do you mean?
DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Jun 11, 2001
I don't belive that this IS real life, I think it is just some rather expensive substatute to real life on wich I don't hae one so whats it like outside? I havn't that, thing ,er... The sun thats it.

But the person DoctorMO, is DoctorMO wherever, right?
I think that makes it REAL.
Are we getting into an unnecessary argument?
What do you mean?
DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Jun 14, 2001
No, I think this is more of a discution becuase WE HAVN'T STARTED THE SHOUTING YET, hehe
Real is the perseption that you exist in somwere and can change things in your existance as well as have things change and efect you in your existance.

Journeyman Posted Jun 23, 2001
So, dear DoctorMO,
Don't you exist in h2g2?
Can't you change things here?
And can't you have things change and efect you here?
What makes you say this is not real?
What do you mean?
DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Jun 25, 2001
if here was put in to reality, we would find our lifes a little dul, we would be blind or wearing black hole contacts, out hearing would be impeared to only pick up SOMe words and out speach would somtimes miss spell things and atualy say smilies 'Wink'
But I only consider it not 'mater' real as the place we talk ocupiys only sofware with is REAL just not 'mater' REAL, I hope this clears things up!

Journeyman Posted Jun 27, 2001
Yes, this does tell me what you think is real or mate-real.
Although, THIS does appear to have a lot more layers of abstraction than the regular 'real' life, the properties that make 'real' life real exist here too.
So despite all the constraints in THIS world, it is as real as any other reality to me.
But I must say, you've got some very powerful thoughts in your head, DoctorMO.

Hey DoctorMO, thank you for doing the honours.
Actually, I was occupied with some problems in the kiln. Everything's fine now.
