Although there was that bug - or *undocumented feature* - that meant that something like U1234567890123456783948329 was the same as U178815. I think it's just a loophole of a mathematical function used by the user numbering system, but really only Jim Lynn knows the answer.

I think Traveller in Time worked it out too, he kept posting them in a conversation and making the screen go all wide
