the wind is howling
Posted Dec 16, 2005
It's howling and we are expected to receive 30 cm of snow over the next two days. Welcome to Canada! If you were born here you might say "What's the big deal?"

The first storm of the season lasted three days, then the temp went up and up rain fell we had a flood advisory, now the temp has dipped down again and we are once again expecting snow. Totally wierd here for this time of year. My 52nd b-day is on Friday and I will have lunch with a friend and then try to forget about it for another year.

Well, wee got our first storm of the season. The wind is howling and the snow is flying. The plows are out but it won't last because by Saturday we are expecting rain and a temp of 10 decrees celsius. I won't pull out the shovel yet.- A good thing because with my shoulder, shovelling isn't an option anyways. Happy
thanksgiving to all you Americans out there. What I've never understood is why your Thanksgiving is so close to Christmas. Too much Turkey!! Enjoy.

Today is Rememberance Day. Very significant for many reasons. Yes it is the day that World War 1 was ended. It is also my Grandfather's birthday. He was a veteren of the first war , haveing been a survivor of the Battle of the Somme. He later became a Brigadier General during the Second war. The only story he told me about the wars was that whilst celebrating his birthday as well as celebrating the end of the great war, he bought a p[ub in London. One problem, He was so drunk that he couln't remember which pub. He took that memory (or lack of) to his grave in 1984.
