Welcome to h2g2, I am an ACE one of the volunteers who welcomes new researchers.

You might find my page of links useful at:

You can reply to me here or leave me a message on my userspace which you can get to by clicking on my name at the top of this message (this works for everyone btw).

Find out how to do smileys like this one smiley - smiley by clicking on him to take you to the smiley page.

Every conversation you join in (or start) on h2g2 will be recorded on your page. You may continue with these conversations as long as you wish, or you may "unsubscribe" at any time.

Every time someone posts to a thread you have posted in (or a page you have subscribed to), the thread will be refreshed on your page.

It is a little strange at first and takes a bit of getting used to, but once you have the bug, you won't want to leave!

Have fun, Read lots and Don't Panic

Thanks for the warm welcome, I think I've got most of the stuff sorted out now (and the smileys are really cool smiley - smiley). One thing I don't really understand is how I can add things to existing articles. I've made a comment about the Swedish red summer houses that I think is relevant. How can I get it included into the article?
Another thing...what is the edited guide and what is the unedited guide (if there is a edited one then there must be an unedtited one i guess).

With editied entries you can leave a message at the bottom of the entry saying what you think needs to be added and when entries are revised they add all the extra info people have recommended. (sometimes you need to prod the editors to get it edited but they are all very busy at the moment!)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/DontPanic-Misc#2 This is what the help section has to say on the subject of mistakes, I think the same process applies for additions!

For Unedited entries, leave a msg either on the article or on the Authors personal space.

The edited guide is entries which have been through peer review, sub editors etc, the unedited guide is the bits which either haven't made it into the guide or haven't been submitted. Like my links page or the h2g2 quiz.
