invention
Posted Jun 13, 2001
I have a good idea for an invention that will be welcomed my many, but am unsure of how to go about making it a reality. I don't have access to the technology that would make it possible, and it would involve the cooperation of external (civil service) companies. How do I go about patenting my idea or do I have to have created a prototype and have liaised with the companies first?

growing human body parts
Posted Jun 6, 2001
Last week I watched a programme which showed the bones of a human finger which were grown in a lab. Is this the onset of a wonderful new medical revolution, or the beginning of the creation of designer babies? Could a world like in Gattaca really exist or is this just abject paranoia? I'd like to think it is a wonderful medical advancement but I can't help but feel uneasy.
