Heh.. Good stuff. I saw in the threads yesterday that you'd made it home alright. I got home late at night, after suffering the fate of sharing a train coach with a school class of teenage Spaniards that just didn't have any clue that they weren't actually alone on the train. It was a relief when they disembarked in Edinburgh, and the silence finally came to embrace us.
Had any Smurfs on Ice lately?

No, I haven't been to the supermarket or other shop. I don't even know if it's available in my country. I saw you posting something that you did'nt think that was the fact.
Just beer for the moment.

Well, I seem to remember a conversation we had about it in some bar or another, where you told me that you didn't have them in Holland.
I just heard yesterday, that they'll start serving Bacardi Breezers in Swedish pubs later this year, and that they'll be charging more than £3 per bottle. That's just plain robbery. BUt then again, Swedish pubs rob you on a regular basis. A shot of whisky (4cl) costs about £8, and that's not even a very good whisky. One of those cheap sorts that you can go buy a bottle (35cl) for yourself for around £15. Can anyone see the logic in that? Robbery, I tell you, Robbery!!!!

I totally agree. In Holland it's the same way. Buy a glass of whisky in a pub it will cost you at least $3,- (I don't have the sign for British ponds on my keyboard), Buy a bottle and you will have to pay $15,-.
I can understand that the owner of the pub has more costs for personell and so on, but this is far too much.

Of course it's sick, Kheldar. But I would think that they can try to justify the high prices with saying that they're trying to get people to drink less, in order to save their health. But it's bad business, isn't it?
I mean, after all, they are running a pub because they want to make money. If they lower the prices of the drinks, more people will go there, buy more drinks, which in the end will result in bigger psofits, doesn't it? Or is it me who doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about?

Looks like to me that you are talking sense Lis.
There should be a place where drinks are not that ridiculous high. Maybe you should try Bulgaria or Romania, I have heard that beer is not too expensive over there.

Usually, University Unions serve alcohol at very reasonable prices. The problem with that is that they have to pay a fee to be members of the union to get in there in the first place.
Maybe someone should start one of those low-price ars somewhere, just to see what happens.
Then we have the bars that every now and then tells peope that all shots for the evening are £1, or soemthing like that. Those bars... We like them..
