Hey Whoami?, this is Tiger Lover (u may not know me but I'm on your friend list as u greeted me being a 'Newbie'). I've changed my name... again! coz I can't seem to login...all sorted now...I hope.

Anyways I hope you don't mind me bothering your but you sound like a nice person and the sort who offers help where needed.
Everyone else I have come across are ...well weird in their own way! hee hee.

I wondered if you had any tips on how to write an introduction for my personal space. I'm not the best of writers and not the most interesting of people but there has 2 be some sort of way of portraying myself to be somewhat interesting and not the complete boring fart I am lol. Being that you study English, I would have thought youd have some useful advice. Tell me to 'bog off' if you like.

I was wondering when you'd get back to me! You're right about everyone - although I'd use 'unique' rather than 'weird'. The community are a lot of fun and there's a truly wonderful atmosphere here once you start to really get involved.

Before I start with the hints and tips, I'm going to give you two reasons why I'm not going to tell you to bog off. Firstly, I found you and your story interesting, and secondly, it would be unkind and against the principles of being a <./>Volunteer</.> to do so.

For your personal space, I'd have a think about the things that you like the most. Try looking at other people's spaces for inspiration - you could start with mine, and take a look at other people's too - click on their names in the <./>Online</.> list. A good place to start is the Italics - who are the h2g2 staff - you can see their spaces by going to <./>Team</.>...

What country are you in? If it's the UK, I'm assuming you couldn't sleep since you posted this at 4am!

Yeah I live in the UK (Essex) and I and just couldn't sleep, I do think I am an isomiac lol.

So, what are you up to at the moment?

Right now I'm eyeing up my bottle of sleeping pills coz I desperately need to sleep! lol.
Well other then that I ain't been doing much apart from boring work and annoying my dad (got a clip round the ear for that! hee hee).

How long have you got left at school, well college?!
What kind of job would you be hoping to get? Teaching Engish or something?!

I don't know - I enjoy writing and editing things, but teaching probably isn't my thing. I'm in the first year of 6th form and then I'll be looking at universities for after the second year.

What would be your ideal job then? I wish I went college, even if there is no gaurentee of a job involving the studies. Just becasue of the fact that I would enjoy doing it!

No, I don't have a job - I'm at school 7 days a week as it is!

I'll have been here two years on May 21st - and I chose to be an ACE because it looked like a good laugh - which it is! Oh, and you get to meet loads of people, too. How did you find h2g2?

Have you used other community sites in the past?

Yeah I used a site called Leisure District had a chatroom, library section, games, private messaging, virtual pets etc etc, missing it, my fingers are missing it the most, no more lengthy typing for them lol.

I thought you might have been an ex-LDer. We're getting rather a lot of newbies from there since it shut down. You're welcome - particularly because you've sussed out how to turn off the caps lock!

h2g2 was one of the first I encountered, and I loved it so I haven't been to many other places - although I do occasionally venture outside. I'm in the process of setting up a site that is a community about communities, effectively. I am an editor for the entire of England at http://dmoz.org/ - it doesn't look like a community, but there are bustling forums for the editors - although you have to earn your keep by doing some editing!

As for not getting injuries from your keyboard any more, don't worry - they'll probably return if you get very involved in conversations or as a volunteer - I have four badges and that keeps the blisters going nicely .
