Just had to say hello after you said you were an archer. My name is Sally and there are too few archers on the site
Bit curious on the usual archery questions - what bow, length, weight etc. Just reply to this message and we can chat if you want.

Hi,
I shoot a Hoyt compound, which is approx 57 lbs, I think my draw length is around 28 - 29 inches at a guess.
I used to shoot field archery but there is no club near me that facilitates it so I shoot target.
I am just getting back into it now, but still enjoy shooting.
Have you been involved in Archery for long?
David.

I've been shooting for about 2 years now, I started when I went to Uni. I shoot a Win and Win Trigger Recurve, I've just gone up to 34lbs. Bit of a difference on the weight there compared to you.
I'm at Bradford Uni and somehow got roped into running the club this year. So until about a months time I'm el presidente (I know it's the masculine) of the club. Next year Bob is taking over and I'm secretary.
Archery was always one of those things that I'd always wanted to have a go at, but never got the opportunity. I was on holiday where they did 'games' and had a go. I won a medal and a free drink and have been hooked ever since.
How did you get started?

I started at school; I liked the Robin Hood films and thought shooting a bow was interesting.
I was lucky enough to have a good club near me (I lived in Cheshire then).
The thing with compound bows is that I would be holding about 25 lbs at full draw. I think my shoulders would pop if I have to hold 57 lbs!
I gave up for a 12 year stint and started again about a year ago.
Running a club must be hard work at times?
David.

It is a bit, but you only have to do a bit at a time, the hardest part is getting people to reply to emails about what we're doing. Yes everyone wants to go bowling, but did anyone answer the email suggesting it? I don't think so.
Where abouts in cheshire were you? I live in Northwich in my everyday - non uni - life.

I lived in Adlington, near Macclesfield. The club was called New Century Bowmen.
I made some good friends there. Although I've heard about what some of them are getting up to, I haven't seen any of them for a long time.

Sorry not heard of it. I'm a member of Winnington Park Bowmen for the summer.
Need to go and get some lunch now - and go and sunbathe in the pub. I'll be around in a few days to natter some more if you want.

Nice to hear from you.
I've had a quick look at your intro and setting up some form of discussion for archery sounds like a good idea.
Anyways, see you soon.
David.
