Hi, SWL,
The "hindsight" thread you´ve opened is really interesting. But I'm missing other questions that could be, from my POV much more practical: what should be done to prevent that from happenig again? and why did it happen.
Take this message as a constructive critic. Well mean it, please. We don´t agree much about some topics, but I appreciate that you at least show an interest to talk about them. Something good, considering that the usual tendency is to ignore.
So, the thread you opened could bring some good discussion if people could get much more involved to offer "solutions" and serious analyses to that topic.
I have no time nor "intellectual depth" to do it.I hope someone here could do it.
And... Happy holidays

Topic drift notwithstanding I'm hoping that in analysing what was done wrong and what has been done right a consensus might emerge as to why it happened. It's important to remember that terrorist attacks were taking place long before 9/11. In fact, I've just read an interesting piece from a former politician that traces 9/11 back to Bosnia and the Maastricht Treaty.
