Anoldgreymoonraker gives the impression- and has done for as long as he's been around- that he has quite a severe drinking problem. I'm sure that he either posted this comment to you in error (meaning to be rude to someone else, I know he's been having a go at Malabarista lately), or left that nasty message for no good reason.
My only suggestion would be to ignore him. I've tried reaching out to see if he's OK, and he doesn't want any help.

Well thanks for the message. Love the title!
I wasn't really worried about it to be honest. I don't know the two people that he mentioned so I was already pretty sure he was confused.
I know he periodically says he's fed up and leaving and what not. It's too bad that he seems down so often, but I'm not concerned. It just seems to be an unhappy pattern.

Sometimes I feel sorry for him. He seems decent enough when he's not in his cups, but that seems not to happen too frequently. I really do pity most people who can't get through a day without a drink; more so sad sacks who need to be drunk all the time.
And I often wonder why, if someone is so fed up so much of the time, he doesn't just leave. Unless it's a desperate grab for attention- I had a minor acquaintance here once who did that a lot. Latched onto me and projected all kinds of personality traits and interests that weren't there, attacked me verbally, stalked me for over a year, pitched up and left numerous times, but always came back looking for more attention. It does seem to be a really unhappy cycle.
*shrug*
You can only give so much. Especially when you're as cynical as you are. I'm too old and tired to be so cynical. Now I'm what I think of as an "enlightened optimist".
