Sorry I haven't been by to say howdy ..

I just wanted to tell you that I have known many US citizens, and have always been proud to be counted as a friend..

I wish I could say or do something to ease your pain at some of the shameful and ignorant comments you have seen here. I hope that you understand that those who say such things are in the minority, and many of them are simply just ignorant

Anyway, I hope you consider me as one of your many friends here at h2g2, and I would be honoured if you would have an with me, here or in RL if it ever happens that we meet.. or an if you don't like

I worry about innocent people half way around the worlds children, family and friends. So many lives impacted by a few madmen so sad} So it is good just to talk to a friend about normal things. My summer was busy being a landscape contractor running a small buisness and raising a family. But it keeps me out of trouble. lol

I really want to help. Sometimes I feel very helpless, very ineffectual.. and frustrated. There is so much ignorance and evil, that sometimes it seems overwhelming. But I have also seen a great deal of goodness, compassion, and reason over this past month.. often from surprising, (to me), places.. I admit that I am not a fan of any politician... however, even Mr. Bush has said things that seemed to come from the heart. I am also impressed with some of the things Aaron Brown, the news anchor, has said.. These people are letting the light of their humanity show, and it gives me hope in these dark days.

Anyway, you asked about what I do and where I live, so here's a synopsis: I am an artist/designer, and I do traditional art such as painting and carving, as well as computer stuff such as web site design. My sister, also an artist, and I live on a small ranch in a rural area of Southern British Columbia, in Canada, called the Similkameen valley, and feel enormously fortunate to do so..

You are a landscape contractor, hm? Do you work on private or corporate contracts, or take whatever comes along? Is it a family business where everyone is involved? That would be challenging, I suspect, but rewarding too..

Do you own or operate heavy equipment? Sometimes I wish I had a small caterpillar tractor or backhoe here on the ranch.. we have a lot of big rocks and stuff, that it would be nice to move elsewhere on the property..

We recently did a fair bit of work on the house here, and some landscaping as well, due to the removal of a rotting, poorly designed retaining wall.. Sure could have used your help!

I to am a artist at heart at least. When I left High School I was Excepted at the Rhode Island School of Design {have you heard of it?}
But at the time I was more interested in wine women and becoming a rock star LOL.

I worked as a mechenic,carpenter,welder,autobody person,pumped gas,sold vacume cleaners and construction. Then after 2 years I made up my mind to catch my breath {Lol} and start my own buisness.

I run a small company couple trucks trailers and equipment. We do all types of landscape from basic cutting of grass, flowers, pruning, mulch instaling lawns to design work to constuction { brick patio's retaining walls ect.}I kinda fell into the buisness when my dad gave me his 10 old truck in late seventys and i had just left my latest job. picked up a couple lawns to cut and some odd jobs and 20 years later.....

would someday like to do something in the art/comuter field but ri8ght now have to support a family.

Where you live sounds beatiful you must tell me more about it.
