"what kind of artis are you?"

here I try to tell you (and myself?): THIS IS A PART OF A LETTER I WROTE TO SARAH CHASE, A DANCER FROM CANADA (preparing a projekt that we will do together in 2 months in salzburg) DIDN'T SEE HER BEFORE, ALSO SHE DOES KNOW NOTHING FROM ME BUT THIS DESCRIPTION....

.... that I am not so interested in handycraft-orientated work, although I was studying sculpture I'm more interested in Objects,
that are banal, taken from everyday life (as everybody knows in the
tradition of Marcel Duchamp and the almost 100 years of following artists including Beuys, Lavier, ... in austria Erwin Wurm , lois Weinberger, Heimo Zobernig ... there are too much...) some of them may get a "magic" (???) meaning, but mostly it is the interest in "the thing". It will be interesting for me to hear your words for what I want to say. Also the transfer from language to language, as the transfer from your "art world" to mine will bring us to new steps I think.

I like work of art that is "ephemer" (not too ???), I love the
Situation, when an exhibition is ended by giving back all the borrowed
parts and almost nothing exists longer than the show, this is no dogma, but it describes some of my ideas. It is also a reason, that i did not many "big shows", have no catalogs and not a real "career" (it is also a possibility to lie to myself) - but if you have no preproduced works, no atelier and just the options for work to offer not so many galleries wait for you.

some more details

I like to improvise, to work spontaneously, sometimes like the risk of
going too far (up to the situation that others would call "blamage" -
how do you call it ?)

the "longwinded" the "not solid", the "labile" or fragile fascinates me also things that seem "not ready" (also in an uncomfortable sense) also the unformed, the broken (all of that in a not too dramatic way!!) - i find myself doing everything to make my unsufficianc to something of quality...

something to aim at I would describe as follows: minimal displacement or rearrangement of a situation that we found, in a way to "charge" or do you say "load" (like accu) the everyday Constellation or Objects with something like atmosphere...?
