Hello Ian!
I'm Matt, known as Bluebottle on the guide - under 6 foot, with brown hair and brown eyes if you wanted to know that. Well, if you didn't, you do now I'm from the Isle of Wight myself, and have lived there happily all my life.
I just popped round to welcome you to h2g2 - hope you enjoy it!
As you're new here, you may find the following useful:
There's a welcome page at:

and the Beach is a great place to meet people:

You're welcome.
So, what do you think of the Guide so far? You can soon get used to it, and even addicted!

Hello Ian
Ian Posted May 15, 2001
I can imagine being addicted to this Someone once told me I have an addictive personality.
I've just spent hours writing something about another of my addictions, and I haven't even got as far as the bit I actually wanted to write when I started. Ah well, tomorrow is another day! I hope nobody minds incomplete articles hanging about.
Hello Ian
Bluebottle Posted May 16, 2001
Nope, no-one minds half-finished articles - take your time to complete it and get it done thoroughly
But yep, it's definately addictive - I've been hanging around here for about 2 years now - 2 years! I've never stayed with the same e-mail address for more than 4 months
So, what else are you addicted to, if you don't mind me being nosy?

Everquest being what you are writing about, I see I confess I've never tried that.
But food - that's a good thing to like I'm afraid I'm not a pizza fan, but I do enjoy and chips

Hmm.. food.. yes. I should add food and Father Ted, to my list of likes. My Everquest piece is turning into a monster. I keep finding new things I just 'have' to put in.

Excuse me, but I don't have a Keeper of Pizza, and I really do need one:

Hello Ian

Gosh! Er.. oh my!
This is a singular honour. I'm not sure whether I shouldn't volunteer to be Keeper of Gadgets instead though. I'm supposed to be reducing my involvement in Pizza at this stage in my life, so that I will still be able to move by the year 2003.

*waves hi* Pizza is good. My friends and I have an informal Midnight Pizza club. We order pizza at or around midinight, on Thursday evenings, except in the exam period... as if you wanted to know
Hello Ian
Ian Posted May 16, 2001
Hi Joanna. I think that sounds like an excellent plan, except that I have to get up on Friday mornings However, myself and my friends do something very similar on Friday night - but we're a bit old for midnight, so we have it at 9pm or something.
My wife is an alumnus (alumna?) of Durham University - she was at Van Mildert college, and frequently ate pizza, as I understand it.
Hello Ian
J'au-æmne Posted May 16, 2001
Thats cool... happily I don't have to get up on Fridays atm, not having any lectures or exams on Fridays...
I'm at Hild Bede College, about as far away from Van Mildert as its possible to be and remain in the University...

Of course... especially since my finger crossing has bourne fruit, and I am now the Keeper of Pizza!
