Yes, it is a sad day indeed here at h2g2 and across the world wherever Douglas' touch has reached.

But regardless, welcome to h2g2! smiley - rose

As one of the ACEs (Assistant Community Editors), it's my job to welcome you to the h2g2 community and lend a helping hand should one be required. If you've got any questions about this big madhouse, feel free to ask me - either by hitting the reply button in this forum thread or by stopping by my personal space at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U53353

You might find the site is slow at times during the next few days, but it's only because literally thousands of fans of Douglas Adams have flocked to the site.

We're all here to build upon his vision of creating a Earth-bound version of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Everyone is invited to write entries for inclusion into the Edited Guide. To get an idea of what to write, do check out the writing guidelines at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Writing-Guidelines (clever, eh?)

Even though you may have come here with sadness in your heart, do see if you might be able to contribute something to Douglas' vision here on the web.

Hi. Can this site be viewed from WAP? Cos of course that would be cool and froody... I already have "Don't Panic" on my phone... Something like that could possibly persuade me to upgrade to WAP!
