Yep. Though when I look at the words and think what they bring to mind in Finnish, it would mean "free them, where does the toiletroom live?". Which is what I meant that it's easy not to understand it.

The best RL case I have witnessed was at my old workingplace, a child crisis centre. We had some renovation done there with the help from Finland. The Finns game to visit us and they were shown around. The boss in charge at that moment didn't speak much Finnish but he pretended it to be easy adding just those typos. So the took them to the second floor and said that everything there is done, the only thing to do is "koristada ruumid". You may guess how the guests reacted. But all he said was that the rooms have to be cleaned up.

Yeah, that sounds a bit.. horrible really. He didn't want to decorate the corps, then? My sister dated an Estonian guy once and he had an interesting tale to tell about a couple of Finns he met in Estonia. They asked for a drink with a common word used here for that purpose but apparently it sounds like a word used for.. umm.. a male part somewhere around the middle. He told them that. I really wish I could've been there to see their faces.

Tere! (Rupert, you'll have to supply your own typos )
This is my last evening on hootoo for an entire 15 days. Don't know how I'll cope...
Apart from this, of course.
Anyway. There was something I was going to say, but I've forgotten what it was. It can't have been that important... If I remember, I'll come back here.
Ivan.
Cheers!

Terve Ivan! (The Friday Puzzle: spot the typo)
There's absolutely nothing can't cure. Well, maybe being allergic to
is something it doesn't cure. Fifteen days sounds alarmingly like a vacation. (Don't mind me, I don't get much vacation this year, it's just
talk). Are you going somewhere?
Cheers!
Hati Posted Mar 19, 2004
Yeah, funny things can happen.
Afaik Ivan is not for fun trip.
Have a lot of with you, Ivan, to cure the lack of h2g2.
Cheers!
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Mar 19, 2004
Quite right - it's not a fun trip. Rupert, I'm off to Adelaide (my home town) to keep my mother company while my sister has surgery. It's all rather awful. The details are in my journal.
But let's not talk about that.
is very useful...
I still can't remember what I was going to say. I think my brain must be in my suitcase.
Cheers!
Becerikli Posted Mar 19, 2004
Oh, I'm terribly sorry. I was fairly certain I was subscribed to your journal. Guess I wasn't.
For what it's worth, I hope all goes well.
Cheers!
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Mar 19, 2004
I think the Journal Entry in question started before you subscribed. You can take that foot out of your mouth now. Thanks for the .
I have my towel: I'll be OK.
Ivan.
Cheers!
Becerikli Posted Mar 19, 2004
Okay, thanks. I was getting a bit uncomfortable there and the taste.. Perhaps best left not said.
Still going through your journal. Hope you don't mind. I usually don't want to miss the backlog.
's good. Maybe I should get one for the office, too. And I need a yellow rubber duck. Don't have one of those.
Cheers!
Becerikli Posted Mar 19, 2004
I would and I do. No, I don't have a yellow rubber duck. All I have is my Ephelant. (Though I do love my Ephelant. I've had him for 29 years).
Cheers!
Becerikli Posted Mar 19, 2004
No, my Ephelant (Ronsu is his real name, which translates roughly to Ephelant) isn't rubbery. He's made of some kind blue fluffy stuff. Soft, he is. (In my world there's three kinds of fabric: soft, shiny and ordinary.)
