could be! Keep intending to get the film on dvd.
Agree about the 'purest motives' thing,
I'm probably not going to read the novels. I wouldn't mind but it is finding the time - simply don;t have the time to sit down and read for pleasure much these days. And when I do I tend to find myself yawning and wanting to crashout and sleep instead!
Sounds like k has been having fun - and especially with all your house shennanigans. Been following your thread but not had much to add to the convo that'd be of any use!
Thanks for dropping back in, good to talk again!

Oh, yes, house-hunting has been a ton of fun. It'll all work out, though.
I'm glad I take a train to and from work, or I'd manage a lot less reading, too.
If you pick up the DVD, I recommend the "Director's Cut", which includes the separate "Tales From the Black Freighter" (the parallel story line cut from the theatrical release) or the "Ultimate Cut", which incorporates that story line back into the main narrative. There's a price difference though- I got the Director's Cut for $14 and the Ultimate is $35. I didn't get that one because it came out after I'd already bought the other.
Always nice to hear from you, especially as you're so busy!

ah, my train reading is mainly psychology again now.
Got an assignment in on tuesday so genning up on it. Thing is it is shaping up to be a 'writing what they want me to write' rather learning and understanding and showing that. I disagree with the conclusions that I will have to reach to get a pass.
Ah well, all part of the skill set!
Houses are such fun though.
Kinda not looking at what I've spent on mine. New bathroom last year and had the roof relayed and felted.
Now I've just confirmed an order to replace most of my windows and the front and back doors. All new good quality double glazing so should look good (current double glazing is very shoddy and the front door is the original 1930s one and doesn't exactly fit any more).
And after all that is done it's painting time and then floors to do.
Meanwhile the garden sits there and sullenly looks unkempt and unloved at me, reproaching my idleness every time I catch sight of it.
I swear the compost heap makes rude gestures behind my back.

Ugh, thinking about remodeling and repairs, etc, over time is almost enough to convince me that we'd be better off just finding a larger apartment, or a rental house or condo. As long as we had a little more space, some decent storage and closets, we'd be OK. I don't dislike our place at all, we just need more space, will need even more soon, and I would LOVE a second toilet at times.
The assignment you're handing in tomorrow sounds like a typical workday! I suppose you can just look at it as additional hands-on training for telling people what they want to hear. We never get a break from doing that, do we?
I've got to go to ameeting today, to go over something already covered in an earlier meeting. It's a lunch meeting, two hours after I'd normally eat lunch (because I get in early), and I can't get the meeting facilitator to respond to my inquiries as to what she's ordering, so I guess I'll just assume I should eat on my own beforehand, per usual. Last time I decided to give the benefit of the doubt, there wasn't anything for me to eat.
Not to mention that down here in accounting, it's month end, so she's planned these meetings during my absolute busiest time.
