Has your sister started work at the college yet? How's she finding it?

yeah, she started at the start of the new term.
Don't think it is really her, mainly because she isn;t as involved. She's just a bod in the classroom, whereas before she was a one-to-one mentor / assistant for an autistic lad. Don;t think she's getting the job satisfaction she had before.

Mind you, she's got a lot going on with her ex and the courts at the moment as he's being a bit of a pillock. No, actually, he's being a lot of a pillock!

Don't think she'll continue in college unless it's the only job going.

How's you two doing? Work doing well for both of you?

That's a shame. Perhaps as the term picks up and the students get used to her she'll enjoy it more.

smiley - erm Although it sounds like she's got a lot on her plate atm.

Us two and work. smiley - erm Well 'don't ask' is really the mood I'm in here at the college library. I'm fed up with the place, and am snapping at perfectly nice students - which I know is unfair, but some of the groups really are a load of imbaciels this year.

The real problem is that I'm trying to cope with enrolment, induction, a new college wide computer networking system that isn't working, a huge intake of confused first years and various other problems completely by myself. smiley - steam Normally, while I run the library myself there are two of us over here in the building - the Learning Advisor deals with some of the inductions and on-line learning stuff as well as covering the library so I can have little things like proper lunch breaks and am able to leave the building to get the post, go to the loe etc. C left at the end of August, so I@ve been doing everything and am probably a little stressed because of it.

Hmmmm, right, smiley - sorry about that.

Any more movement on the house front?

Yeah, her ex is playing the awkward g*t. Well, awkward and, as far a s I can tell, with a few loose screws. But then I'm biased cos I don;t see how anyone can give up on their kids and then use them as a tool to get at the other parent. But enough of that here smiley - winkeye

I think she just preferred the one on one, where, as she said, she could see she was making a difference. We shall see come christmas.

Do you have your librarian exams? Or thought of taking them? I don't know too much about it, but I know there are various quals. Do you intend to stay in an educational establishment or move to some other library? Law libraries are good I hear!

On the house front I'm getting more viewings, that's for sure. Had three last week, 1 feedback which I wasn;t surprised to find was a 'not what we're after'. Others no feedback yet. And got another viewing tomorrow morning at 9.30am!
Still can;t work out why it's all women that are viewing the place! Well, women or couples. Ho hum, fingers crossed. But not too tightly cos then I'll have to find somewhere to buy!

smiley - fairyNuff.

No I don't have any recognised library qualifications. But I've now got plenty of practical experience! I think I'd prefer to stay in educational establishments - grotty as some of the darling students can be I've heard terrible things about the general public. smiley - winkeye

At some point in the future I'll need to make a decision about which way to turn - whether I head back to the classroom or carry on ferriting through my books I'm not sure. A librarianship Bsc can be done part time - but I'm not overly keen to have to wade through all the Business Management modules that go with it; although I've a feeling I really ought to look into it a bit further and will probably end up enroling on a course at some point. smiley - erm

Women viewers..... must be all the decorating you've done, they know they won't have to do any for a while. smiley - biggrin

heh, yes, the general public are a fairly hopeless bunch. And I strongly suspect when they are being objectionable its cos they mean it, rather than just cos they're bored and don't want to do the next assignment!

I keep thinking of doing another degree part time. Thing is, its about 15 hrs a week, although I guess you might be able to swing study leave as it is job related, but 15hrs is a part time job, on top of my full time one! I'll get there eventually. Especially as my 2nd youngest nephew has now decided he wants to get a PHd one day as well. Can't have 2 people in the family with them and me not!

Hows wales atm? Wet and cold I imagine?
