i am very new to pc emails and even though i both have a hotmail and yahoo accounts i do not understand the terms span and span filters. i would not how to activate span filters on my hotmail and yahoo accounts. please explain to me about how span filters work on emails and how do i get span filters to work on my emails. i do not think they have them on my digi email. i am very new to this.

Well, in hotmail it's really easy, you go to preferences, and set your spam and junk mail filter really high. If something gets through that shouldn't, you click the little box next to it, and hit This Is Junk Mail (or Block Address) button at the top of your inbox screen, and it will specifically block that email addy. I've never figured it out on yahoo.

Kat, you should be able to do that on your personal hotmail page, not on the pc... I had mine activated when I used the library computer myself.

raych the email i have is an activemail one and it's tv interactive. i think i will have to ask from help from the library staff. i had to have help with sending attachments. when i was doing an admin course 5 years ago i was only taught how to send two emails on the colleges computer's an it was very basic instructions. i am still not it literate.
