Just read your comment on The Autopsy, and nipped along to your site. Many things to keep me interested, so I'll stay a-while (if you don't mind).
However, 2 things caught my eye (as the subject dictates).
I have 5 kitties! One of them once brought a rather large Koi carp home. She also has a rubber glove fetish. Strangely enough, she is the smallest cat out of the lot of them.
ALso! New Orleans! I'm planning to take an extended trip there in the next two years (my first EVER holiday), and I was wondering how much time you had spent there, and what you could tell me about the city...? Best places to go, where to go for travel advice, cheap accomadation, that kind of thing. I'm trying to find out as much as possible befoe I take the plunge and go...

Hi Saturnine!
Sorry to take so long in replying - been skipping in and out of H2G2 a bit lately and have not been too observant!
5 s eh! Wow! As mentioned I only have the two and they can be a handful at times! Take this morning - they both had their breakfast and then went out to do what cats have to do. When they came back (they invariably travel together, coming and going at the same time) they went barmy! It sounded like a herd of wilderbeast going up and down the stairs and around the bedroom! Jake came down the stairs so fast at one point that his back legs really were in front of his front legs! As far as I know neither of them has a fetish for anything as as rubber gloves! They both like to sit on cardboard though.
On to New Orleans. I wish I could tell you lots about the city but to be honest I can't. I was only there for a week and most of the time I was working. I did manage to stroll down Bourbon Street one evening though.
I have one very important piece of advice - don't go in the Summer. I was there in July and the temperature was horrendous. 100 degrees plus and 95% humidity. It was like walking in a sauna! All the hotels and shops are air-conditioned but if you want to tour round you will suffer big time. Oh and it also stormy season. We flew to Houston to get a connecting flight to New Orleans but the connection was cancelled because of thunderstorms. We had to drive for 7 hours to get there for the next day because they couldn't guarantee that there would be any flights available the next day. That was an adventure.
I spent a few hours surfing the web for info before I went - even though I knew I wouldn't see much of the place. I think it is always a good idea to know a bit about where you are going. The cemeteries on the outskirts are fascinating - all built above ground because of the high water level. The French Quarter is beautiful - just like being in France - only hotter! If you like seafood you are in luck - specially if you like it creole style! I definitely want to go back, but perhaps in the Spring or Autumn. I think Mardi Gras is in Feb or March - probably the best time to go, but could be expensive. Whatever you do I hope it is a fantastic trip.
Take care
BTW - Still undecided about the body works exhibition!!!!

Thanks a lot. I shall have a little look around the net later for info. I'm planning to get across there (don't know where you are but I'm in the south-west of England) around September time. Next year if I am lucky, the following if I'm not. I can deal with thunderstorms. Just not humidity at the same time!!! Thanks again, and if you come across anyone that knows anything more. could you direct them my way???
