new PC and new guide entry

My new PC arrived unexpectedly last wednesday afternoon. I was expecting a phone call, but instead someone just turned up with a couple of boxes. I have set it up, and I'm using it right now. I have tried some games and Demos on it(mainly 3D games), such as Deus Ex(a demo), half Life and Grand Theft Auto 2, and I'm quite impressed.

Also, my entry about the British Parliament
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A591383
is in the edited guide, after quite a long wait.

New PC (and other things on my mind)

I have finally ordered a new PC. It has the following spec

CPU :ADM Athlon 1 GHz
RAM :256
DVD -ROM :12 Speed
Graphics :Nvidia Geforce 2MX 64MB
Sound :Creative 128
Operating System :Windows ME
Hard Drive :20 GB

I've left out the rest, as these are the important details. I ordered it last night, and according to their website, it should come within 4-7 working days. This means probably sometime next week (The week starting Monday 30th July.

Also, it seems my article on the British Parliament was edited last monday (The 23rd July). The editor said it would be on the front page within a couple of weeks. That's another thing to look forward to, while I wait for my PC to arrive.

Also I might not write about Michael Davitt just yet, but leave the entry I have started for later. I may well right about the Land League instead, or before I write about Michael.

back from my hols

Last thursday (The 12th), I returned from Holiday in Ireland. I went with my parents, and we stopped with my Grandma (on my dads side), and my uncle bob. The weather was mostly good, but we did have a bit of rain. We visited a number of interesting sights, including a musuem at Ceilde Fields, where there is a bog, and this is a site where remains of ancient houses and farm land were found.

Also there, we went to a Michael Davitt musuem, that gave quite a lot of information about him. He is an interesting character, and if you want to know about him, I will be posting links about him in my personal space. Also I am collecting information of Michael Davitt, and am planning to write an entry to the guide about him, hopefully to be included in the edited guide.

Also my article on the British Parliament is currently in the pending stage, and should be included in the edited guide in the next week or two. ( found out on the thursday, when I got back. It is good to know that something has happened while I was away.

finished first year of university

I finished my first year of my university course last friday (On the 15th) I did reasonably well getting 60 out of 100 which works out as equivalent to a borderline 2.1/2.2 degree. My first year does not count towards the final grade for my degree, so long as I pass, but this is a good sign that I have got to grips with the degree.

I am typing this from home, having left the university flats last Saturday. I am using my dad's PC, as mine has stopped working for some reason. I am probably going to get a replacement PC anyway, as mine is getting on a bit (It was bought a few years ago).
