hi there,

I have a question about this astrological stuff. It's obvious that you quite believe in this and I have often noticed that some typical Capricorn traits are in fact the same as mine. But if I read some of the other traits from other signs, these could also apply to me. So I have always wondered just *how* one can be a 'typical' anything. And how one's moment of birth, which I assume is just a question of chance, can determine these things.

I have also noticed that in terms of 'compatability' it often holds true that I seem to connect better with other earth signs, but not always (still, more often than not). Also, within any one sign - say Gemini for example - there is a vast difference in compatability. One of my best friends in the entire universe is a Gemini and at the other end of the spectrum is you-know-who. I've also almost always had difficulties with Aquarians. Is this all just coincidence?

I mean, I know that everyone has other things happening other than just their birthdate. I used to know more about this but have mostly forgotten it all now.

Also (stupid question alert!) does this only include humans or can it also include animals?

Az, see http://www.horoscopematch.com/horoscope/zodiac/Capricorn-Taurus.php

From another site;
<quote> Delphinus - Taurus Decanate of Capricorn
>Delphinus is the intelligent dolphin known for saving Arion when he was lost at sea. This Taurus decanate of Capricorn ruled by Venus can be as smart and affectionate as dolphins. Persistence and perseverance can enable one to build a solid foundation and rise to a high position. Consideration and concern for others can even lead one to deny one's own personal objectives in order to help those in need. The keyword is MARTYRDOM.<

But remember the Sun sign is only a small part of the picture.

Thanks for that info and the link, Alji. Especially as most of it is qutie flattering smiley - blush

It's funny because my family member who is the self-acclaimed martyr is my sister (Leo). But I related to that in the sense that when someone needs help, and if I am able to give help, then I do tend to forget about myself in these moments and just tackle the 'job at hand' for the other person. And sometimes this hasn't worked out all that well for me. But mostly it has. smiley - smiley

Yes, also very true that I value friendships incredibly. Though I am not unable to talk about my wants and needs. Quite the opposite, in fact. Strangely (or perhaps not) the majority of my major love relationships have been with somewhat 'needy' people. And this has always resulted in they are very happy when I am well and taking care of EVERYTHING. But if I ever show any weakness, then this ends up terrifying them.

I am a striver, I must admit. Unfortunately for me, money has never been one of the things I will strive for if this means it will affect my quality of life. Hence, am almost constantly broke! smiley - smiley

And I always admit to vulnerability - which is not the same thing as weakness. But have found that sometimes people respond to this rather weirdly and also somewhat nastily.

I think I give off an air of someone being very calm and in control, when in fact I often feel the total opposite of that. Honestly, I am a total mess of insecurities and other scary stuff. Except, yes, when the chips are down, there is no 'survivor' like me, I think. In fact, the times when my back it totally against the wall is when I re-discover my personal strength.

Interesting chin, eh? I'd looked on another thread you had posted and it said that Capricorns often had weak chins and protruding teeth! Not me. I have a totally serious jawline and people often comment on how straight and lovely my teeth are (even my dentist!).

I also always believe that any sort of defeat is just a temporary setback - like I have a choice? What else would it be?

Like the dolphin connection. Actually feel quite a personal affinity towards dolphins and whales (even though I can't swim myself!).

Hey! I also totally LOVE my birthday. I never worry about getting older, rather always feel pleased that I managed to make it through another year. And so I always make a big fuss about my birthday - MY birth day - and make everyone else around me celebrate this with me.

Are Capricorns also total organising maniacs? I find I love to organise stuff, for me and for others, so much so that I've often thought this should be my job! Also, whenever someone presents me with a problem I can usually find a quite good solution within minutes (though am not so good at doing this for myself).

You didn't mention animals. I have three cats. Born July 10, August 5 and April 7. The first is the crankiest thing on four paws, the second is a total baby and he thinks he is a dog, the latter is totally mystical. Just wondering.

Thanks again,
az

hi Alji,

Looks like we are all alone here today - perhaps lots of people have gone off to the big Hootoo event in London? Or perhaps they are just happily busy HAVING A LIFE? smiley - biggrin Honestly, lately I am thinking I am spending far too much time here. But since I also enjoy it - well, what the f**k.

Anyhow, thanks for the links you sent - which I only discovered just now! Anyhow, sounds like I'm a rather strange sort of Capricorn, though I liked and agreed with a lot of the stuff in the first link.

Sea-goat? Could this explain my passion for fish shaped objects? It's no joke, for years and years I have collected fish shaped thingys. Without even knowing why.

And if I am supposed to be so 'practical' then why did I move to Spain 11 years ago on a wing and a prayer? No money, no job, heck, not even knowing any Spanish! That doesn't sound too practical to me.

As for discipline - ha! It turns out I have almost no self-discipline at all. Well, okay, when the chips are down then I become soooooo disciplined that I almsost scare myself. What do you make of that? I've never quite understood it but although I seem to go along rather lah-de-dah mostly, if something happens that makes me feel like my back is totally against the wall, then I get this very weird sense of - this is who you are! And this ends up feeling like the most relaxing feeling in the world. It feels totally calm. Even though, in these instances, 'calm' should have been the last thing I should have been feeling. But it is also an icy cold sort of 'calm', if you know what I mean. And then I go - 'okay, now what?' And take care of things as best I can.

What about you? Being a Gemini. How do you take this astrological stuff in your life? Do you believe it totally or just see it as yet another way of understanding who you are?

Kinda like the god stuff. Do you think you are 'god'?
