Hi Azara
Thank you for what you just said in my journal about my entries!
You posted "I used to do a lot of commenting in PR" and I have noticed your absence of late, and I miss your style of reviewing (I have learned a lot from you). Is there any specific reason for this, or are you taking things a little slower, or is this something you'd rather not discuss?
I'm very puzzled with the politics of PR and even though I have tried to copy other reviewers styles, it seems I am still doing wrong.
I try to be fair and keep personal comments out but sometimes that isn't possible.
I try to abide by the PR rules but even that's being disputed by other researchers (same journal)
It's disheartening to be put-off when the Guide desperately needs authors and reviewers in order to keep the Guide going and updating.
Some Scouts tell you not to bounce your own entries but when they're floundering in the mud with no comments at all after 8 days it's soul-destroying.

Thanks, Annie!
When I said I used to do a lot of commenting, I meant my first year or two here, where I was usually contributing to 10 or 15 PR threads at any one time. It began to seem like an obligation and a chore, and I found myself getting a bit ratty, so I stopped altogether for a while. Since then, I've found I come and go in PR depending on how busy I am and what humour I'm in.
I'm glad you found my reviews helpful--that's what gives me the biggest buzz in PR: I feel that with good reviewing, the authors themselves get as much benefit as the Edited Guide does.
About "bumping"--you're obviously not sneaky enough. Posting *bump* may annoy some scouts, but there's nothing to stop you doing something like this:
"I've been thinking about the entry and I was wondering if it would be better to put the Stage Career section before the Film Appearances one--what do you think?"
If there's still no response, then a few days later "On consideration of the last point, I think it makes more sense to keep the Stage section first because on balance it was more important."
You can drag out that kind of thing quite a bit if necessary!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
