Hi Azara,
I have written an entry, currently in Peer Review, which has its origins in Frank Mitchells book. If possible would you be able to take a look at it? It's about the Younger Dryas period, also known as the Nahanagan stadial - a period of global glaciation just after the Ice Age finished. I think it's topical because of all the current discussion about global warming. It's kind of stuck in Peer Review, and I would like some additional commentary to get it back in circulation again! I'm pretty happy with it as is, but maybe the name of the entry has frightened the scouts off!

I hope all is well with you!

Hi, Woodpigeon!
I've been fine - just very busy for the last few weeks! The Lesser Dryas entry looks right up my street - I'll have time tomorrow to give it a detailed look and review it properly. Maybe while everyone lese is watching the match!

Too late!
I went looking for it and discovered that not only has it been recommended, it has been edited within the short time since I last looked. The one thing I had been going to suggest was a couple of headers, and I see that the editors have gone overboard on this and put in loads!
It just goes to show how well the whole place manages without me....

I see now that you had put the headers in yourself - obviously the edtiors didn't think it needed any changes at all, and that's why it was turned around so fast. Congratulations!

Hi Azara - After finishing Mitchell's book (thanks again), I found another excellent one - Flora Hibernica. Have you read it?

Oh yes - that's a wonderful book! It was actually Nora (the h2g2er from Bray) who mentioned it to me first last autumn, and I got a copy for myself. It's really excellent - the photos and layout are great, and the authors are really accurate when it comes to the botanical detail. A great book! There's enough inspiration there for a load of entries.
I doubt if I'll have much in Peer Review myself for a while, though, - I'll be off on my holidays soon. I'm going to do an Italian cookery course in Siena, which should make quite a change from this perpetual rain. I'm also going to go to the h2g2 meet in London on the 20th of July - I'm very curious to put a few faces to all those names....

Siena - that sounds great! Please bring some of the good weather back home! I don't think I will make the summer meet, as I will be doing a lot of travelling to the US over the next month or two, and with two small children back home, it might be a little too much to ask of my wife! I haven't stopped thinking about it though... I definitely will miss it .
Have a marvellous holiday...
